Travel Guidelines
- A few weeks before your departure, you receive your travel book with all the information necessary for the proper conduct of your cruise, including a reminder of your itinerary and the name of the port of embarkation.
All passengers must have valid proof of identity and the necessary visas for the destination countries, according to their nationality. Upon your arrival on board, the form of identification you used to complete the Information Sheet will be taken from you. It will be kept until the end of the cruise to be presented by the ship officials to the customs authorities at each port. If you need it during a port of call, it will be available for you at reception, provided that you return it once back on board.
At each arrival into a new port, immigration and customs officials will board the ship. As soon as the necessary checks have been done, the passengers and crew will be allowed ashore. In the event of a lack of required infrastructure in certain ports, the ship could anchor offshore. In this case, disembarkation will be done using small boats from the ship, or local launches. Given the limited number of these boats, the disembarkation will be done in groups. Please pay close attention to on- board announcements.
Certain excursions will be offered to passengers according to the port of call, and are not included in the price of the cruise. They are optional, so you can choose to not reserve a place, or alternatively to even organise your own excursions. Nevertheless, only excursions offered by the cruise will guarantee that you are back on board at the required time.
A medical questionnaire is required for all cruises, and this will be sent to you by email prior to boarding. You will be required to return it fully completed 45 days before the start of your cruise. If you have any special treatment, please note it on the information sheet before departure, then inform the on-board crew at the moment of departure and always keep your medication with you for the duration of the cruise.
If a person has not been judged suitably fit for travel in complete safety, the company reserves the right to refuse their embarkation.
The crew are bilingual in French and English. All signage and announcements made are in French and English. On certain cruises, crew members also speak other languages.
Children's participation in any activity in an inflatable boat shall be subject to the agreement of the Captain and of the Expedition Head, depending on the sea conditions, and the difficulty of disembarking at each location visited. The ships do not carry Parka's in children's sizes. Parents must arrange to bring a suitable Parka for children.
Passengers must abide by the laws of each country. It is strictly forbidden to carry illegal items when entering or departing from a country, and any items and cash shall be declared.
All items purchased during a cruise will be subject to applicable quarantine clearance procedures be local authorities on disembarkation.
Some countries require visitors to have fingerprints and photos taken upon arrival at airports, and port terminals. Immigration officers may inquire about information including the purpose of visit, travel itinerary, length of stay, and travel companions.
Passengers shall comply with requirements of the instructions provided for cruise ship travel products and safety warnings provided for tourism activities, actively participate in and complete marine emergency drills, and cooperate with safety precautions and emergency measures implemented by relevant departments, organizations, the cruise ship company or travel agencies. For activities organized by passengers themselves, the guidelines and arrangements of the service personnel shall be followed. In addition, passengers shall take into account their age, physical fitness level, health status, prevailing weather conditions and the activity itself to determine whether they should participate. Passengers shall assume any liability arising from the activities. If a passenger considers it necessary, he or she should seek advice from a doctor or professional.
According to customs regulations, there is a duty-free allowance if the total value of items obtained overseas for personal use and carried by inbound passengers is within a certain amount; however, some types of goods are not included within the duty-free scope. Please note that due to restrictions under the U.S. Passenger Vessels Services Act (Jones Act), cruise company cannot accept reservations for consecutive itineraries that begin in one U.S. port and conclude in a different U.S. port. In the event such an itinerary is booked, cruise company reserves the right to cancel one of the cruises at the Guest's expense and/or the Guest shall be responsible for any and all Jones Act fines that result due to such booking. Local cabotage laws are subject to change at any time without warning.
