Anvil Bay is a private and exclusive barefoot beach camp on a rare untouched stretch of coastal wilderness in Mozambique’s most southern national park. Created with the smallest possible footprint to preserve the wilderness and special sense of place the camp is set up on the beach under canvas and thatch. Just 10 Casinhas are nestled in the dune forest on stilted wooden decks each with its own stretch of beachfront. About the Camp
To give our guests the best experience of life on a beach and preserve the raw natural beauty of this pristine piece of paradise we have built as little as possible at Anvil Bay. Canvas tents provide shade on the beach and a thatched retreat in the forest shelter from occasional storms. The beach bar lounge and restaurant are centrally positioned on the bay with the accommodations either side so guests can book to be close to the action or enjoy even more isolation on the north and south ends.
The accommodations, called Casinhas (a little home in Mozambique) are nestled in the canopy of the coastal forest just a few steps away from the secluded white sand beach. They blend a small footprint, natural materials and local craftsmanship with simple functional furnishings and fine linen.
Designed to be your home from home you will find a well stocked minibar and beverage station, luxury indoor and outdoor showers and a private dining deck en-suite.
The thatch and canvas design takes advantage of the cooling ocean breezes and the canvas sides can be rolled up to truly get in touch with the natural surrounds. Outdoor lighting has been kept to a minimum in order to better see the majestic African night sky and so as not to disturb the turtles in nesting season.
Climate
Southern Mozambique has a tropical savannah climate. Winter months (June to August) are dry and mild, with average temperatures between 58°F (14°C) and 77°F (25°C). The summer months (December to March) are noticeably hotter and wetter with occasional thunderstorms in the afternoons. January is the hottest month with highs averaging around 86°F (30°C).

Important Information
Our Full Board rates Include: Accommodation, all meals, tea, coffee's, soft drinks, non-motorized activities and 17% Mozambican sales tax. Excluded: Visa, Park fees for self drive guests, transfer costs to and from Anvil Bay, other beverages and motorized activities.
Transfers can be booked with Anvil Bay. The rates are non commissionable and subject to change at any time. Private Helicopter charter between Maputo International Airport and Anvil Bay 1250 USD Max 3 passengers one way or 1600 USD Max 5 passengers one way.
Kosi Bay border transfer to Anvil Bay 420 USD Max 4 passengers, one way. Maputo road transfer to Anvil Bay 420 USD Max 4 passengers one way. Guided Safari tour of Maputo Special Reserve 600-670 USD Max 7 passengers.
Gate opening and closing times: Summer - 06h00am to 17h00pm; Winter - 06h00am to 16h00pm.

Hotel Policies
Child policy
1. Children 4 years and younger stay free of charge.
Children 5-12 yrs sharing with parents pay 35% of the adult Full Board Rate.
2. Certain casinhas can accommodate a maximum of two children under 12 years sharing with parents.
3. An extra bed and/or camp cot will be made available upon request.
4. The Family Casinha accommodates 2 adults (with a king size bed) and 2 children (on two single beds) in an adjacent area with a bathtub on a private patio.
5. Two of our casinhas are situated close together and connected by a path. These casinhas can be set up for a family group of between 6 - 8 (2 adults and 2 children at most in each room).
Terms of payment
1. Invoices include the Amount and bank details for USD and Meticais as well as an authorization form if card payment is preferred.
2. Card payment will process on the Meticais amount.
3. Rate of Exchange on the payment date applies.
4. A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a reservation.
5. Balance payable 30 days prior to arrival.
6. Provisional bookings will only be accepted more than 6 weeks prior to stay and will be held for a maximum of two weeks.
7. Any bookings made within 30 days prior to travel will require full pre payment within seven days of making the reservation.
8. Any bookings made within 7 days prior to travel will require full pre payment immediately.
9. Please quote the Proforma Invoice number and surname of the party as a payment reference.
10.Please ensure that all bank charges are paid in addition to the total amount invoiced.
Cancellations/ amendments
Cancellations and amendments must be given in writing to info@africabooking.co.za and are subject to the following conditions:
1. Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to arrival will forfeit the 20% deposit payment. We will allow for the 20% deposit to be utilized for a future booking.
2. Cancellation of confirmed bookings less than 30 days prior to arrival will be subject to 100% cancellation fees.
3. When holding provisional bookings, Companhia de Turismo de Chemucane reserves the right to, when in the position to accept another confirmed booking, request the operator to confirm the booking with a deposit payment within 48 hours.
