🌊 Kayaking – explore the coast in easily manageable Fluid Buddy and Legend Kayaks or hit the shore break in awesome double seater inflatable K2s. Day trips out to Linga Linga to explore the quiet waters of Morrumbene Bay!
🌊 Biking on the beach – single gear “Mozambikes” perfect for casually cycling along the shoreline.
🌊 Massages on your private deck – choose a treatment and the resident masseuse comes to you for massages, exfoliations, facials and others.
🌊 Archery – a great Zen activity at the beach using the right bows for young and old, right or left-handed, so everyone can learn a fun new skill.Diving, snorkelling, ocean experiences – see Manta Rays and Whale Sharks in this marine reserve.

Beach Activities
Beach Run: Wake up early to find coffee and tea on your deck and set off for a walk or run along the beach before breakfast. Except for one or the other fisherman, you will have the beach entirely to yourself. Boogie Boarding & Kayaking: Kids off all ages have been braving the warm water and shore break with our boogie boards of all sizes and bigger boards are available for older children and adults. Our Fluid Buddy Kayaks are great to paddle out to see, once you mastered the shore break. For flat water Kayaking, join a half-day trip to LingaLinga and explore the mangroves of the Inhambane lagoon. Return to Travessia by lunch-time.
Diving, Snorkeling, Ocean Experiences
The coral reefs in the Inhambane area are famous for sightings of Manta Rays and Whale Sharks. The area has been earmarked to join the list of Marine World Heritage Sites and we strongly recommend a day or half-day trip for an ocean experience, diving or snorkeling during your stay with us. The water temperature is above 23 degrees all year round and can reach temperatures of 28 degrees early in the year. Travessia recommends a selection of dive centers and offers to assist with the booking. Guests need to enter into a direct agreement with the selected center. Transfers for the daytrip can be booked with Travessia, if required.

Massages on your private deck
Enjoy a 60min or 30min massage on your private deck. Chose from a selection of different massage styles, products are organic and homemade: Coconut oil for the massages or Avodado, Papaya and Honey for facial treatments, depending on your skin type.
Bush & Village Walk
A favorite activity among our guests, our bush and village walk is a casual stroll through the coastal forest, introducing guests to life and customs in the village. Guests will pass special sites like the rare baobab tree , the village pre-primary school or the local bush bakery. Depending on what the locals are busy with on that afternoon, food and Sura tastings may form part of this uncontrived experience.
Depending on your level of fitness and curiosity, the walk may take anything between one or three hours. The walk is for free. Any donations from guests to our “Village Fund” are welcome and will contribute to future projects to the benefit of the community, such as building and maintenance support for the local schools or infrastructure.
Archery
Our very own “bowman Ben”, a former SA Longbow champion, will introduce you to archery, a great Zen activity at the beach for both adults and kids. We have the right bows for young and old, right or left-handed, ensuring everybody will enjoy the new skill. All archery is supervised.
Bicycling
Explore the endless beach and the coastal forest on wheels. Our two fat bikes sport a 7- gear shift (of which you will probably only need 1-2 gears…) and are great for casually cycling along the shore line. Go just after low tide, when the sand is nice and solid. For a shorter ride through the village (+/-30 minutes) grab our single gear "Mozambikes", specifically developed by a Maputo company for the needs and requirements of Mozambicans, and follow our little trail through the bush and the local communities.
Market Visits
Do as the locals and join our team on their shopping trip to Morrumbene, Massinga or Maxixe. Those small town markets usually cater for locals more than for tourists and allow for relaxed browsing. You will find a variety of “capelas”, the colourful printed fabric the women of Mozambique like to wear, as well as beautifully woven baskets, traditional food preparation tools and of course, lots of fruit, veggies and spices. For a broad selection of curio items we recommend a trip to the market of Inhambane. Transfer fees may apply. Tours are for free if guests join the Travessia team on their shopping trip to Massinga or Maxixe.
