Description
At Kingfisher Creek Lodge, our cottage is a big hit with our families with small children. Located 1km from the main lodge, this cottage is fully equipped for guests who want the option to self- cater.
It is a 2 bedroomed cottage surrounded by lush gardens and has fantastic bush views. The animals on the reserve tend to pass by the cottage in the evenings as there is a fresh water trough close by which allows you to enjoy a safari from the comfort of your bush boma and fire pit.
The main bedroom has a king size sleigh bed and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. The second bedroom has a Queen bed and one single beds and an en-suite bathroom with shower.
The kitchen is open plan to the lounge and the sliding doors open up on to a large covered patio area.
The cottage has a private bbq/ braai area with a fire pit that overlooks the bush. This is an exclusive use cottage. Rooms are not rented out individually.
If your family/ group is slightly larger than 5 guest’s we have additional accommodation next door sleeping 2 extra in our Kruger styled rondawel. The rondawel has 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom. Eating and cooking facilities will be with the rest of the group at the cottage.
*There is a R150 gate entry fee for all vehicles, not included in rate. Only credit & debit card payments accepted. No cash.

This region has some of the best activity excursions available in the country and we are lucky to be able of offer our guests a wide selection of experiences to suit every guest’s needs. Most popular are the Safari Game Drives. With the Kruger National Park on our doorstep (entrance through the Orpen gate), experience the joy of viewing a wide range of birds & animals in their natural habitat.
Being surrounded by the Blyde River Canyon, there are many activities that explore and enjoy this area of natural beauty from Hikes to boat cruises there is something for everyone.

Payment Policy
30% Deposit to confirm reservation and balance due 30 days before arrival, 100% Payment upfront if arrival is within 30 days1 night booking’s- Payment in full on confirmation
Cancellation Policy
Cancel over 60 days- the 30% deposit less 15% is refundable.Cancel between 60- 30 days, the full deposit is non-refundable. Cancel within 30 days, the full amount is non-refundable
Child Policy
Children under 2 stay for free, Children between 3-12, staying at the lodge, are charged at 70% of adult rate

Private Transfers
We use a reputable transfer company to collect our guests from Johannesburg OR Tambo airport and bring the guests directly to the lodge. Flights
Kingfisher Creek recommends all our guests use Airlink as their airline of choose when visiting Hoedspruit. There are daily flights from Johannesburg (JNB) to Hoedspruit (HDS) with Airlink. There are also flights from Cape Town direct to Hoedspruit
Scheduled Shuttle Bus
Kingfisher Creek recommends SWIFT Kruger Shuttles for your scheduled bus transfers. They will take you as far as Hoedspruit where you will then be collected and transferred to Kingfisher Creek Lodge
What animals can I see from the lodge?
We have a number of plains games roaming the reserve such as Zebra, Giraffe, Impala, Waterbuck, Blue Wildebeest, warthogs. We also have buffalo , hyena, wild dogs and if you are really lucky you might catch a glimpse of one of the many leopards that frequent the area. Surrounding Guernsey Private Nature Reserve is Thornybush which is unfenced all the way to Kruger. On occasion our guests have seen elephant or lions on the fence line between us and Thornybush which is always special to see
Car Rental
Renting a car and driving here is an option favoured by many as you have the freedom to visit the various attractions as and when you want. All the major rental companies have vehicles in Johannesburg’s OR Tambo and in Hoedspruit’s Eastgate Airport
Do I need a 4x4 to get there?
No, we have had many guests arrive in the smallest of rental vehicles

What do we need to bring when staying in the self-catering cottage?
All you need to bring is your food, drinks and ice. We provide wood for the fire, tea, coffee, sugar, bath products, linen for the beds and towels.
