About a Village with a Lodge

On the malaria-free West Coast of Namaqualand, you’ll find the tiny village of Kotzesrus. The village lies almost right in the middle of where the Namaqualand Sandveld and Hardeveld meet… facing north, if you look to your left, you’ll see the sandy coastal fields towards the sea and if you look to your right, you’ll see the rocky granite hills towards the inland. This unique geographical address offers an opportunity to enjoy nature and culture in so many different nuances, that it is described as one of the best Namaqualand experiences ever shared.

We are only 18 km from the unspoiled beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, about 60km from Garies and more or less 60km from Bitterfontein on the N7. Time stood still here for decades on end…. except for this one sumptuous private lodge which was developed exclusively for guests who’d like to share our unique beauty and our stories…

Rooms

Nuwefonteinskop Lodge hosts 2 comfortable, spacious en-suite queen rooms (sleeping 2 couples). Our rooms are rustic, yet very elegant and each room has a private patio overlooking the field garden and peaceful village beyond.

Activities 

If you linger for a few days, we offer sundowners, customized picnics, 4×4 nature drives through the sand to the wild white beaches, unforgettable night drives in the moonlight and tractor trips on a jeep track up the rocky hill. The peace, the perfect off the grid nights, no streetlights, no traffic, the sounds of silence, and the wonderful world-renowned Namaqualand wildflowers in Springtime is second to none!
