Lukimbi is one of only 7 private concessions within Kruger National Park, and at 15000 hectares is the largest. It is located in the southern section of the park, and is bounded by 3 major river systems. The concession offers a diverse array of habitats, including grasslands, wooded thickets, savannahs, drainage lines, dry river beds, rolling hills and lush riverine thickets. It stands to reason that a healthy abundance of wildlife- including the Big Five and a host of other animals, big and small - finds home here.
As a private concession, Lukimbi's visitors are treated to the best of the national public reserve in a highly personalised way. No more than 32 guests at a time enjoy unlimited and exclusive sightings as vehicles are permitted to traverse off-road in a highly controlled manner.
Idube Game Reserve is in the Sabi Sand Reserve, which is a 65,000 hectare, privately owned, reserve on which we traverse 10 500 hectares, and it shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. Idube is known for it's Big 5 viewing, and especially it's numerous leopard sightings. Idube is another exclusive lodge, with only 11 rooms, and is dedicated to giving guests a genuine and informative experience in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. In between drives, guests can enjoy the pool and bird watch, or relax on their private decks and watch the warthogs and the nyala families on the lawn.

Important information
Safari activities are with qualified and well trained Guides and Trackers. Arrivals are from 13h00, but ideally no later than 15h00. Departures are after morning safari and breakfast at 10h30.
Guides/Tourleaders: The rate is R4000 per night nett and will be reserved in a Classic suite.
Driver: R2700 per night nett and accomodation will be reserved in a Classic suite, inclusive of dinner and breakfast, no activities included, rate in non-commissionable.
Transfer Rates: To/From Kruger Mpumalanga airport / Skukuza airport & Lukimbi / Idube, also between Lukimbi and Idube are availiable on request.

Bookings over peak season 20% cancellation applicable on confirmed bookings cancelled more than 30 days
20% Deposit due within 1 month of reservation being confirmed for all bookings over peak season.
Full payment due 30 days prior to arrival.

- Cancellation 30 days or more: No cancellation fees apply.
- Cancellation within 30 days of travel: 100% cancellation fees apply.
- Groups more than 8 people: 20% cancellation applicable on confirmed bookings cancelled between 90 to 30 days.
- Bookings over peak season: 20% cancellation applicable on confirmed bookings cancelled more than 30 days.

Lukimbi has a character of its own – warm, inviting, charmingly imperfect and a little quirky too. Bright and richly textured natural fabrics, bold furniture chosen for comfort and artisanal crafted artworks encourage proper relaxation where you’re invited to make yourself completely at home – be that in the lounge, the bar, the dining room or one of the relaxation alcoves on the upper or lower deck, or in the library. All the comfortable bedrooms have their own porch or deck with a view over the lodge gardens or bush, depending on the room, and wifi is available in all rooms and entertainment areas. All 16 Suites (14 Classic Suites and 2 Premier Suites) flank the Lwakahle River and have their own private views of the bush. We planned them carefully to allow for privacy, whether you are travelling as a family, a group of friends, a couple, or on your own.

The eight individual suites are built at some distance from each other among Knobthorn and Jackalberry trees. The extensive lawns are home to a variety of animals. Although these tolerate the presence of humans, they remain wild and free. The lodge accommodates a maximum of 20 guests. The suites are all individually decorated in a modern African theme. All have high ceilings and are particularly suitable for anyone suffering from respiratory problems. The windows and doors have extra screens so that the windows can be left open at night. Each suite is air-conditioned and there are overhead fans. In addition to the original suites, the new Makubela suites offer the ultimate in luxury, comfort and privacy. Named after a female leopard which included the lodge grounds in her territory, the suites are built at the end of a raised walkway.
