The Delta is also home to approximately 500 bird species, both native and migratory. The Okavango River travels approximately 1600 kilometers from Angola to Botswana's northern area. It is home to a variety of animals, including hippos, crocodiles, fish, frogs, water birds, terrapins, and many others.

ACCOMMODATION TYPE
Fully serviced: This safari is a non-participation tour where your safari team will carry out all the necessary chores to keep the safari running smoothly. Head out on safari each day with your guide safe in the knowledge that when you return to camp everything will be set up ready for you. There will be a guide with you at all times as well as a team (chef and camp assistants etc) in a back-up vehicle to set up / take down your camp and also prepare delicious meals.
Equipment: 3m x 3m x 1.95m large canvas dome tents with private en-suite bush toilet and shower. A camp stretcher with mattress and all bedding and linen provided for your comfort.
Vehicle: Custom-built 4x4 safari vehicles and trailer. The safari will be supported by a back-up vehicle dedicated to set up / packing of your camp

Camp Savuti has a reputation for exceptional game viewing. It is known for large herds of herbivores and predators. Getting there is a 20-minute drive from the local airstrip, and this is an excellent opportunity to view the game. The camp only accommodates ten people in 5 Meru-style tents. These tented camp accommodations are comfortable and very well situated.

The Khwai Concession is a region in the north-eastern Okavango Delta boasting an impressive fauna. It is a superb alternative to the Moremi Game Reserve, which can be visited all year around.

Arrive in Kasane to meet your tour guide and fellow travelers before departing on your safari at 12.30 p.m. Later in the afternoon, take a river cruise down the Chobe River, an incredible experience that allows you to get up close and personal with water species and birds that are not easily approached on safari. The voyage also serves as an excellent icebreaker, allowing everyone on the safari to get to know one another.
Chobe National Park awaits after the river cruise. A leisurely game drive to your camp will provide you with fantastic views of the sun sinking over the Chobe River floodplain. You'll arrive at camp shortly before dusk, where the rest of the safari staff will greet you and show you around your new home for the next two nights. Camping will take place in a private designated area with ensuite bush toilets attached to each tent.

Today's game drives will take you along the banks of the Chober River, followed by the call of the majestic African Fish Eagle. The Chobe River floodplain provides excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, attracting big herds of buffalo, elephant, zebra, and other animals. Predators are likely to be around due to the abundance of prey.

Today, go south, away from the Chobe River, into Chobe National Park. As you continue your search for animals, you will pass through Savute's drier section, where bull elephants roam the plains. Savute is well-known for its predators, which include lions, leopards, cheetahs, and even African wild dogs. The Savute Channel has reopened after being dry for the past 30 years. The arrival of water is transforming the terrain and allowing other species to thrive that were previously unable to survive in the barren plains of Savute. This thrilling event has brought enormous breeding herds of elephants and buffalo to the area.

Drive through the Khwai section of the Moremi Game Reserve from Savute, one of Botswana's best wilderness places, which includes marsh and dry landscapes. The following two days will be spent exploring for the diverse species and birds that this area is known for, as well as taking in the sounds and beauty of the area. The norm will be game drives in the early morning as the sun rises and late afternoon as the sun sets. A mokoro tour will take you down a tributary of the Khwai River to see game from a different angle and to experience this peaceful means of transportation.

Depart early on a game drive which will take you out of Moremi / Khwai. As you continue on to Maun, you will have one more chance to glimpse the more elusive species that have yet to be spotted. Your safari concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation or the airport.
