"The Flight of Angels" aptly refers to the Helicopter Flights over and around Victoria Falls
Experience the 'Flight of Angels' perspective first hand.It originated from the phrase coined by David Livingstone when he first documented discovering the falls: "Scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by Angels in Their Flight". I think it is a great name, it describes this activity perfectly as it is surely one of the finest experiences you can have.
What to expect duration: 12 to 25 minutes
After a gentle take off from the helipad the helicopter turns out towards the magnificent Victoria Falls, our pilot will fly left and right hand circuits over the Victoria Falls in both directions giving you the best viewing, photographic and filming opportunities. A trip up the Zambezi River and back over the Zambezi National Park completes your flight. you will fly out over the Victoria Falls where we will provide you with the most incredible viewing and photographic opportunity of this World Heritage site. Continuing your flight downstream over the Batoka Gorge, experience the natural beauty of this awe-inspiring dramatic feature, following the mighty Zambezi as it carves its way between steep cliffs.
As we head back from the Batoka Gorges, taking a last glimpse of the falls, we fly over Long island on the upper Zambezi towards the National Park, home to a wide variety of wildlife species. This is an amazing opportunity to view game from the air in this vast National Park, as well as along the banks of the upper Zambezi River. There are great chances of spotting Elephants, Hippo, Crocodile, Buffalo, Giraffes, Kudu and many more as we head back to the helipad.
Charter flights over Victoria Falls for filming are available on request, subject to a full pre-flight briefing to ascertain exact requirements by the camera persons & producers involved. Our areas of speciality include shooting stills and video footage of Victoria Falls for commercials, documentaries and for inclusion into full-length movie productions. No special effects or stunt flying will be undertaken. The doors of the helicopter can be removed and safety equipment is provided to the camera persons.

SUPPLIER'S HELICOPTER FUEL LEVY REVIEW
Dear Travel Partners,
The helicopter fees have not increased since 2017 and the helicopter price has not increased since 2014. We have done our very best to keep prices at affordable levels for many years during which time we have absorbed several significant cost increases.
As the Helicopter Association of Victoria Falls, the recent sharp increases in fuel prices globally have had an adverse effect on our operating costs. It is against this background that we introduce a fuel levy of US$10 for the 12-13 minutes Flight of Angels and US$15 for the 25 minutes Zambezi Spectacular flight on top of the current US$15 government levy. Guests will now pay US$25 and US$30 at check-in for both flight options respectively. This revised levy will be effective from the 1st of August 2022.
The revised levy will apply to all bookings for flights from the 1st of August 2022. We will however honour all bookings already in the system at the rate of US$15 per person.
The helicopter price remains unchanged for 2022.

The Zambezi Helicopter Company works with M.A.R.S. (Medical Air Rescue Service) and other medical air rescue organisations to provide medical evacuations and cassevacs when called upon in emergency situations in the outlying areas of Victoria Falls. This includes landing in the Batoka Gorge and Zambezi National Park to attend to accidents and to ferry injured persons to medical facilities in Victoria Falls or Hwange (100km) if needed. This requires us to be constantly training with the M.A.R.S. staff in the injured person loading and unloading procedures and helicopter safety in approach and exit from a working helicopter. Should your flight be disrupted due to a medical emergency, your flight will be re-scheduled. If this is not possible you will get a full refund on any payments made.
Zambezi Helicopter Company (ZHC) have a comprehensive fully established and functional Safety Management System (SMS) covering Health and Safety within the operation.
These guidelines have been implemented to ensure that our passengers can travel with confidence and that their health and safety is a priority.
All the COVID-19 health and safety measures proposed will be integrated in the existing SMS.

FAQs
What is the maximum weight for the helicopter flight above Victoria Falls?
Max weight is 120kgs however flights rearrangements may still be made to accommodate the passenger exceeding this limit
Yellow fever
No you don't need a yellow fever vaccine if you are coming directly from the USA via Cape Town to Victoria Falls. You only need one if you are recently coming from a country that has yellow fever.
What is the amount of tips we need to give to the tour guide and driver
Tipping in Zimbabwe is totally discretionary, it is not a law and should only be for service that you are happy with.
How Much?... well that depends on how many there are of you and how long you are with the driver or guide and what they do for you. If it just an airport transfer then really no tip is necessary unless you particularly feel inclined to and then $2 to $5 USD would be gratefully received, I am sure.
If it's a guided tour of the Falls and you think he/she has done a great job then again $5 to $10 would be generous. If you are with a driver or guide for a day or longer then maybe $10 to $20 would be sufficient again depending on how helpful he/she has been. Hope that gives a little more insight and you can work from there.
Tipping at restaurants again follows the same rules for good service and is normally about 10% of the bill. I personally gladly tip 10% when the service has been great, which it normally is, but if the service is slow and bad, I am sorry but I do not tip them.
Just to put it in proportion a driver will earn in the region of USD $400 to $600 per month.

Charter bookings to be made at least 7 days before the date of charter to allow for flight planning.
Payments
Bookings will be cancelled if payment is not received in full prior to the date of travel.All payments are required in full before booking is confirmed.
Cancellation Policy
You can cancel up to 72 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund. For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time, If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded. Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
