SHARK CAGE DIVING – IN SEARCH OF ADVENTURE?
Shark Cage Diving Cape Town, starts in the early hours of the morning. We can collect you from Cape Town and many other surrounding areas. You will take a 2hr scenic journey to a sleepy town called Gansbaai. You will arrive at our FIVE STAR Headquarters which has the best facilities In the whole of South Africa for shark cage diving. It is a stones throw away from Kleinbaai harbour named ”The Great White Shark Capital of the World”. We will then immerse you in all things shark by taking you on an adrenalin-surging adventure experience. If you want to cage dive with some of the best sharks In the Southern Hemisphere then White Shark Projects In Gansbaai is the place to visit.
Our team have over five decades of experience between them working specifically In the shark cage diving industry. Our marine biologists will be on every trip which enables you to have one on one contact with some of the best marine biologists in the world. We want you to come away knowing more about sharks and what we do to aid their conservation.

How it begins:
We collect you from Cape Town or Hermanus and take you on a scenic drive to ‘White Shark Lodge’, our home base in Kleinbaai, to enjoy a delicious continental breakfast and discuss current sightings, indemnities, wetsuits and equipment before heading off to board our custom built 36 ft, 4 tonne white shark dive catamaran – ‘Shark Team’. We limit her to 20 passenger capacity plus 5 crew to ensure your comfort and viewing pleasure throughout your adventure experience.
You get to meet one of our intrepid skippers, a qualified paramedic, a Dive Master and our friendly crew and enjoy a short talk on shark anatomy and behaviour. We explain how White Shark Projects works with the sharks in the area and how you will spend the next couple of hours diving and viewing these wondrous predators in their natural habitat.
As the day unfolds:
You are fully briefed on all procedures and the action begins as our crew ‘scents’ the cruise area and you wait with bated breath for your initial glimpse of the first shark fin.
Sharks are usually wary at first and we wait a while for them to settle and then lower the diving cage. Our first guests enter the cage (takes 5 – 6 people) and spend about 20 minutes face to face with the sharks!
We will work with individual sharks and you can enjoy topside viewing during your wait as shark activity is often close to the surface.
In fact, Great Whites are also known for their ‘spy hopping’ – breaching right out of the water in pursuit of prey! Topside viewing can yield a lot of those action shots!

The ocean has no fences and Shark Team enjoys sightings of various shark species. These Include the Great White Shark, Bronze Whaler Shark, Cow Sharks and Stingrays. We can never guarantee any specific sighting but we will however be 100% transparent with you when you make your booking as to what sightings we have had recently and what you can expect. We understand that even though we can never predict what you will see we want you to be assured that we will give you honest and up to date answers. We pride ourselves In honesty and high quality services and we want you to feel safe with us.
DUE TO WEATHER AND TIDE CONDITIONS, ALL TOURS AND TOUR TIMES ARE ONLY CONFIRMED THE DAY BEFORE YOUR TOUR.
We will contact you 2 days prior to your trip to check you are still on schedule .
TRIP TIMES:
Trip departure times are all governed by the tide and weather conditions. Trips can start as early as a 7am launch and we can run multiple trips up to 4:00pm.
Meeting time is a one-hour before departure. This will give you time to eat breakfast which is included In the cost, use the wash rooms and have a safety briefing prior to boarding our Shark Team Vessel by our Skipper

Lunch and refreshments - Our lunch boxes are hearty, offering a variety of snacks, fruit, water and assorted juices and soft drinks for you to enjoy at leisure whilst on board enjoying the fine South African weather. On our return to the harbour we treat you to tea and homemade vegetable soup at the lodge giving you a chance to regroup and share the day’s experiences after which you will be driven back to your original meeting point.
Equipment - We provide all necessary diving and safety equipment for you to enjoy your cage diving experience in South Africa in comfort and security. We only ask that you bring suntan lotion, cap and sunglasses, a warm jersey/jacket and of course, your swimming suit. If you know you are prone to motion sickness or even if you are unsure if you are, we advise you take medication 2 hours before we depart so as not to spoil your adventure! And the last tip – don’t forget your camera!!

The biggest most luxorius onsite facilites on the harbour – 6 walk in spacious showers and a large ladies powder room with 4 hair dryer stations. Separate mens urinal with a double sink plus 6 spacious toilets.
Disabled ramp access to the front of the building with its own separate toilet and shower facilities.
Sanatising stations located throughout the vessel with quick and safe washing facilities.
